Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Pursue and publish an original research agenda using quantitative/computational/experimental methods.
• Teach undergraduate and master's level courses in Language Science/Linguistics, including at least one of the following areas: psycholinguistics, phonetics/phonology, sociolinguistics, language acquisition, and/or language typology.
• Mentor students and cultivate their success.
• Fulfill service responsibilities to the School, the Institute, and the field.

Minimum qualifications

• Ph.D. in Linguistics/Language Science or a related field, completed by the time of appointment.
• Demonstrated original research agenda.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively teach self-designed courses.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with innovative instruction and curriculum development.
• Evidence of engagement in service, leadership, and/or faculty governance.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with non-linguist audiences, including students, colleagues, and laypersons from diverse backgrounds.
